Dengue Situation in Mayotte. Epidemiological Update as of July 30, 2014.

Analysis of the Epidemiological Situation

The monitored epidemiological indicators (weekly number of biologically confirmed dengue cases and positivity rate) have continued to decline over the past three weeks, but sporadic cases continue to be identified, suggesting low-level persistence of viral circulation on the island. This circulation remains primarily active in Mamoudzou, but local transmission of the virus is still being observed in other parts of the island. Despite the observed decline in indicators, dengue circulation remains active; the highest level of vigilance must be maintained to limit the risk of a renewed intensification of circulation.
