Dengue Surveillance in Réunion. Epidemiological Update as of July 3, 2018.

Epidemiological Situation

Since the beginning of 2018, 5,750 biologically confirmed or probable cases of dengue (including 3 imported from Polynesia, Brazil, and Thailand) have been reported by private and hospital laboratories in Réunion. The only serotype identified in 2018 among indigenous cases is DENV-2 (910 genotypes). This situation follows an unusual low-level viral circulation during 2017, when persistent transmission was observed during the southern winter.
