Key Points

Leptospirosis

  • Ongoing leptospirosis outbreak, larger in scale than in previous years

  • Partly due to heavy rains, the outbreak began earlier this year. Compared to the same period in 2023, more than twice as many cases have been reported to the ARS (22 cases versus 54).

Dengue

  • Circulation is on the rise but remains limited to the southern part of the island to date, with several outbreaks in the municipality of St. Joseph.

  • Optimal weather conditions for the vector

  • Ongoing outbreak in Mauritius/Rodrigues.

COVID-19

  • COVID-19 viral circulation is stable and low.

  • In Week 7, the positivity rate (PR) was stable: 9% in Week 7 compared to 8% the previous week.

Influenza

  • No flu outbreak alert.

  • Indicators have been stable over the past three weeks.

  • In the city, however, there has been an increase in the proportion of cases attributed to acute respiratory infections (ARI).

Gastroenteritis

  • No current outbreak.

  • Surveillance indicators have been stable over the past three weeks.

Bronchiolitis

  • Regional trend: End of the outbreak.
