Epidemiological Situation

The flu epidemic began in Réunion in June and is currently ongoing, with a rising trend in consultations for flu-like symptoms among the island’s sentinel physicians and in emergency departments. At the same time, three types of viruses—A(H1N1)pdm09, non-H1N1 A, and B—are circulating simultaneously. Since early June, four people who developed severe forms of influenza have been admitted to intensive care.
