Epidemiological Situation

This year, the seasonal flu epidemic began early: as early as mid-April, sentinel physicians and emergency departments reported an increase in the number of visits for flu-like symptoms.Over the past three weeks, a slowdown in activity in private practice has been observed; nevertheless, the number of consultations for influenza remains above the epidemic threshold. Three new patients have been admitted to intensive care for influenza, one of whom has died. Type B influenza virus remains active in the region. In this context, it is important to note that influenza vaccination is the only way for vulnerable individuals to protect themselves against complications and severe forms of the disease.
