A seasonal bronchiolitis outbreak began three weeks ago, with an increase in SOS Médecins consultations and visits to the emergency department at Nantes University Hospital for bronchiolitis. The observed increase is similar to the 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons, which saw earlier epidemic peaks. This increase in emergency room visits for bronchiolitis is also observed at Angers University Hospital in week 48. The virology laboratories at both university hospitals confirm that RSV has been circulating for the past two weeks.
