Over the past week in the region:

A heat wave has been affecting the region since Sunday, June 18, and is now subsiding in the western part of the region.

Today, June 20, three departments (Maine-et-Loire, Mayenne, and Sarthe) were under an orange alert, while Loire-Atlantique and Vendée were under a yellow alert.

There has been an increase in SOS Médecins consultations for heatstroke/hyperthermia, mainly since Saturday, June 17, peaking on Monday, June 19, with 29 consultations, followed by 22 consultations on Tuesday, June 20. Of the 60 heatstroke diagnoses recorded since Sunday, 90% involved people under the age of 45.

A slight increase in hospital emergency room visits for heatstroke/hyperthermia has also been observed since last week, mainly over the weekend of June 17–18. The number of visits rose yesterday (from 3 to 11 visits) in Sarthe, where the maximum temperature reached 36°C.
