Key Points
COVID-19
The rise in SARS-CoV-2 circulation indicators observed in S08 continued into S09, following a period of decline observed in early February. The spread of the variant of interest 20I/501Y.V1 (UK), which is more transmissible, also continued.
Gastroenteritis
After a sharp increase in early January followed by a plateau at a moderate level, SOS Médecins calls for gastroenteritis continued to decline in S09 while remaining at a higher level than at the end of 2020, across all age groups. Emergency room visits remained generally low.
Bronchiolitis
Third week of the bronchiolitis epidemic among children under two years of age in the Pays de la Loire region. Emergency room visits for bronchiolitis, RSV isolations, and SOS Médecins calls remained at high levels in week 09.
