Key Points
COVID-19
In the Pays de la Loire region, the upward trend in SARS-CoV-2 transmission indicators, observed since mid-February, continued in week 10 across all departments in the region. The increase in the proportion of suspected cases of the variants of interest 20I/501Y.V1 (UK), 20H/501Y.V2 (ZA), and 20J/501Y.V3 (BR)—which are more transmissible—also continued.
Gastroenteritis
After two weeks of decline, SOS Médecins calls for gastroenteritis—which had remained at a moderate level since early January—rose again in Week 10 across all age groups, particularly among those under 15. Emergency room visits remained generally low.
Bronchiolitis
This marks the fourth week of a bronchiolitis outbreak among children under two years of age in the Pays de la Loire region. Visits to emergency departments and SOS Médecins consultations for bronchiolitis, as well as RSV isolations, remained at high levels in week 10.
