In the Pays de la Loire region, SARS-CoV-2 transmission began to rise again in Week 36 and accelerated significantly in Week 37. Hospital indicators remained stable and low in Week 37
In Week 37, the regional incidence rate was 290 positive cases per 100,000 inhabitants, a marked increase compared to the previous week (+78%). The testing rate was also on the rise (1,084 per 100,000 inhabitants; +44%), as was the positivity rate (26.8%; +3.1 percentage points). The increase in the incidence rate affected all age groups, with those under 15 and those aged 15–45 being the most severely impacted. The unfavorable trend in virological indicators was observed relatively uniformly across the region’s five departments.
Monkeypox
In the Pays de la Loire region, 93 cases were reported with a biologically confirmed diagnosis of monkeypox.
