Oscour® network emergency department visit indicators:

• Among adults (18 and older): an increase in emergency room visits for mental health issues in February 2022 compared to the same period in previous years.

• For those aged 11 and older: the monthly number of emergency room visits for suicidal ideation remains high and has increased during the first two months of 2022.

• For those aged 11 and older: the monthly number of emergency room visits for suicide attempts in February 2022 was higher than that observed in February 2021, but with a similar proportion of cases.

• Among children (<18 years old):

  • The monthly number of emergency department visits for mental health issues in February 2022 was similar to that observed in February 2021 but higher than the monthly average observed in February over the 2018–2020 period.

  • The upward trend in the average monthly number of emergency department visits for suicidal ideation among 11- to 17-year-olds continued in 2022, with numbers higher than those observed in previous years during the same period.

  • The average monthly number of emergency room visits for suicide attempts among 11- to 17-year-olds in 2022 is higher than that observed in 2021 during the same period.
