Key Points

COVID-19

  • Continued increase in viral circulation as measured by biological indicators.

  • Most other indicators monitored as part of this surveillance have stabilized, with the exception of a slight increase in hospital mortality.

Chikungunya, dengue, Zika

  • Since the start of enhanced surveillance, 22 imported cases of dengue and 1 imported case of chikungunya have been identified in the region.

West Nile virus

  • Three cases of West Nile virus infection have been confirmed by the CNR. These are autochthonous cases residing in the departments of Bouches-du-Rhône (1) and Var (2).

  • In addition, 3 equine cases were also confirmed by the LNR in the Var department in August and September.

Monkeypox

  • As of October 4, 273 confirmed cases residing in the Paca region have been reported.
