Health Monitoring in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur Region. Update as of October 2, 2024.
Key Points
Arboviral Diseases
Dengue: 6 dengue outbreaks and a total of 70 locally acquired cases in 2024 in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region.
Viral circulation remains active in the Var and Bouches-du-Rhône departments.
COVID-19
Syndromic indicators on the rise in the city and at the hospital.
Virological indicators are stable in the community (not available in hospitals).
This week marks the start of seasonal surveillance for acute respiratory infections (ARI). Starting next week, the bulletin will be updated to include surveillance indicators for influenza (all ages) and bronchiolitis (in children under 2 years of age).
Pertussis
Activity remains stable in emergency departments and SOS Médecins clinics.
Asthma related to the start of the school year
One month after the start of the school year, activity in emergency departments and at SOS Médecins for childhood asthma has declined to levels comparable to previous years. The peak was reached in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur (PACA) region in week 38 for OSCOUR and SOS Médecins. The trend in indicators in the PACA region is comparable to that observed at the national level (see news). Santé publique France continues its syndromic surveillance and monitoring activities, but the reporting of indicators in the bulletin ends this week.
