Health Surveillance of Mortality. Weekly Update, April 30, 2018.

Summary

At the national level, since Week 14 (April 2–8), observed mortality has returned to within the usual range of fluctuation. This observation holds true for all regions except Normandy, where the number of deaths in Week 15 (April 9–15) is near the threshold of statistical significance.

These observations should be interpreted with caution, as the data are still unconsolidated due to the usual delays in reporting.

At the European level, among the countries participating in the EuroMomo network (www.euromomo.eu), mortality across all age groups is decreasing.

According to data from electronic certification, 1,606 deaths were recorded during week 17 (April 23–29).
