Health Surveillance of Mortality. Weekly Update, August 16, 2017.

Summary

Based on mortality data provided by INSEE, the observed number of deaths from all causes during week 31 (July 31 to August 6, 2017) remains within the usual range of fluctuation for this period, both across all ages and by age group.

Given the usual delays in data transmission, the mortality figures observed over these two weeks are still incomplete. Caution is therefore advised when interpreting these observations at both the national and regional levels.

According to data from electronic certification, 1,265 deaths were recorded during week 32 of 2017 (August 7–13, 2017).
