  • Nationally, the number of deaths among people aged 65 and older decreased in week 33, but remains elevated among those aged 65–84 (at the threshold).

  • A decrease in the number of deaths was observed in all metropolitan regions in week 33, except in Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur and Corsica.

  • The excess deaths between weeks 27 and 32 coincide with the heat waves and periods of extreme heat that have affected the mainland since July 13.
