Health Surveillance of Mortality. Weekly Update, May 30, 2023.
Key Points
Due to the long Pentecost weekend, the completeness of mortality data from civil registry offices may be lower than usual. Trends in mortality will be confirmed once the data is consolidated.
The number of deaths from all causes reported by INSEE remains within the usual range of fluctuation across all age groups and regions through Week 20.
In Week 21, the number of deaths certified electronically rose slightly compared to the previous week (+4.3%), mainly among people over 65 in nursing homes and, to a lesser extent, at home.
