Key Points
Nationally, following a moderate excess of all-cause deaths observed between weeks 32 and 36 (September 9–12, 2021), the number of deaths across all age groups returned to within the usual range of fluctuation in weeks 37 and 38.
In Martinique and Guadeloupe, the number of deaths has continued to decline since week 34. It remained elevated in Martinique through week 38, while it returned to the usual range of fluctuation in Guadeloupe in weeks 37 and 38.
In French Guiana, a more pronounced excess of deaths was noted in week 38, while the number of deaths had already been moderately elevated between weeks 29 and 37.
