Key Points

  • In Week 15 (April 8–14, 2024), emergency room visits and hospitalizations following emergency room visits remained stable across all age groups.

  • Among those under 15, visits for allergies are stable but remain higher than in previous years.

  • Visits for chickenpox are on the rise among those under 15 (+30%, or 160 more visits) and among those over 15 (+15, or 8 more visits). Visits for measles are slightly up (23 visits versus 17 visits last week) across all age groups.

  • For seasonal winter indicators, the decline continues among both those under 15 and those over 15, whether for suspected COVID-19 infection (respectively -5%, -15%), influenza/flu-like illness (respectively -22%; -15%), acute bronchitis (-16%; -9%), gastroenteritis (-10%), and pneumonia (-14%; -6%). Only pneumonia remains at levels higher than in previous years.
