Key Points

  • In Week 06 (February 3–9, 2025), emergency department visits remained stable compared to the previous week for both children (down 4%, or 4,324 visits) and adults (down 2%, or 7,166 visits). Hospitalizations following emergency room visits decreased among children under 2 years of age (-6%, or 210 fewer hospitalizations) and remained stable in other age groups.

  • Visits for influenza/influenza-like illness decreased compared to the previous week across all age groups (-22%, or -3,560 visits across all ages). The percentage of activity among children (7.5% of total activity) remains high.

  • Emergency department visits for other respiratory indicators have stabilized (acute bronchitis and pneumonia in children) or are decreasing (acute bronchitis and pneumonia in adults, upper respiratory tract conditions, suspected COVID-19, and asthma attacks across all age groups) compared to the previous week. Among children under 2 years of age, visits for bronchiolitis have decreased compared to the previous week (-10%, or -152 visits).

  • Among other indicators, there was an increase in visits for conjunctivitis among children under 2 years of age (+8%, or +16 visits) and among those aged 45–64 for suicide attempts (+8%, or +23 visits).
