Summary

In week 44 (October 28 to November 3), total emergency department activity and hospitalizations following a visit decreased among children aged 2–14 (-6%) due to the second week of school vacation and remained stable in other age groups.

Over the past week, the main increases in visits were for respiratory conditions
:- bronchiolitis among children under 2 years of age (+11%, or +164 visits). One week after the outbreak was declared, there has been a moderate rise in epidemiological indicators in most regions and a continuation of the outbreak in the French West Indies and the Île-de-France region;
- influenza/flu-like illness in all age groups (+35%, or +131 cases), pneumonia in children under 2 years of age and in those aged 75 and older (+40% and +7%, or +59 and +120 cases, respectively), bronchiolitis in children under 2 years of age (+11%, or +164 visits) and ENT disorders in adults (+11%, or +381 visits).

There has also been an increase in visits for infectious conjunctivitis in children under 2 and adults (+23% and +14%, or +38 and +97 visits, respectively) over the past 3 weeks, and for gastroenteritis in those aged 75 and older (+21%, or +32 visits).
