In week 36 (September 2–8, 2019), total emergency department visits and hospitalizations following visits decreased (-7% and -4%, respectively) among adults and remained stable among children.

Following this back-to-school week, notable increases were observed in visits for asthma (+46%, or +244 visits) among children and adults over 75 years of age, and for dehydration (+29%, or +17 visits) among children under 15 years of age. Visits for viral meningitis increased slightly (+11 visits). All other seasonal and non-specific indicators are declining among both adults and children.

Regarding the most common conditions, they are all declining among adults. Among children, there was an increase in visits for trauma (+8%) among 2- to 14-year-olds, bronchiolitis (+24%), ENT infections (+9%), and gastroenteritis among children under 2 years of age.
