Summary

In Week 50 (December 9–15), overall activity remained stable among children and increased slightly among adults (+4%, or 2,011 visits).  Over the past week, there was an increase in visits for:

  • influenza and flu-like illness (+25%, or 473 visits) and pneumonia (+19%, or 161 visits) across all age groups;

  • gastroenteritis among 2- to 14-year-olds (+14%, or 259 cases) and among 15- to 74-year-olds (+8%, or 354 cases);

  • isolated fever (+10%), malaise (+47%) in children, and asthma in adults (+9%) among moderate patient numbers.

Regarding bronchiolitis in children under 2 years of age, SOS Médecins visits continue to rise moderately (+3%, or +19 visits). With Corsica entering week 50, all metropolitan regions are now in the epidemic phase. The epidemic peak was passed in Île-de-France two weeks ago.
