Summary

In Week 25 (June 21–27, 2021), overall activity at SOS Médecins clinics remained stable, except among children under 2 years of age, where a slight increase was observed (+6%, or +302 cases).

Medical procedures for suspected COVID-19 across all age groups remained stable after four consecutive weeks of significant decline (670 procedures in Week 25 vs. 684 procedures in Week 24, a decrease of 2%). The share of activity was also stable (1.02% in Week 25 vs. 1.03% in Week 24). By age group, these procedures were stable (among those aged 15–74) or declining.

At the regional level, SOS Médecins procedures for suspected COVID-19 are stable or declining except in Hauts-de-France (+37%, or +27 procedures) and in Centre-Val-de-Loire (+138%, or +11 procedures). Since monitoring began on March 3, 2020, 224,418 medical procedures for suspected COVID-19 have been performed.

Seasonal indicators are declining across all age groups. However, there has been an increase in procedures for isolated fever among those under 15 years of age (+14%, or +115 procedures). Among the most common conditions, there is an increase—unusual for this time of year—in ENT
conditions (+7%, or +655 procedures among children and +325 procedures among adults). Among children, there was an increase in procedures for viral syndrome (+22%, or +99 procedures) and for dental conditions (+11%, or +54 procedures), as well as for gastroenteritis, exclusively among children under 2 years of age (+7%, or +25 procedures). Among adults, procedures for urinary tract infections (+10%, or +200 procedures) and gastroenteritis (+6%, or +116 procedures) are also on the rise.
