Social marketing: definition, scope, and examples of engagement among healthcare professionals

In Anglo-Saxon countries, it is common to implement prevention programs that draw on the techniques and steps of social marketing to develop more effective strategies for changing the attitudes and behaviors of target populations. The purpose of this article is to outline the scope and approach of this discipline and then to illustrate, drawing on the expertise of Santé publique France, the role that social marketing can play in engaging healthcare professionals in prevention efforts.
