Key Points
As of 4:00 p.m. on August 3, 2017, 15 departments are under an orange alert and 5 under a yellow alert. The affected departments are located in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, Corsica, and Occitanie. The current weather system is expected to last until at least Saturday in the Central-East region and until Sunday in the Mediterranean region. A more significant cooling is not expected until Tuesday.
Nighttime temperatures remain very high, particularly in PACA and Corsica.
To date, there has been a gradual increase in heat-related medical cases at emergency departments in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. No significant changes have been observed in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, Corsica, and Occitanie regions.
