The health, societal, and economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic are affecting the population’s mental health (results of the COVIPREV survey). Visits to emergency departments in the OSCOUR network (93% of all national visits) and SOS Médecins calls (95% of all national calls)—data for which has been available daily for several years—have been tracked for various mental health diagnoses since the start of the pandemic. Changes in emergency department visits, hospitalizations following visits for suicidal behavior (GS), anxiety disorders, and mood disorders (TH), as well as SOS Médecins calls for anxiety and depressive episodes in 2020, were compared to those of the two previous years, at the national and regional levels, for four age groups (<15 years, 15–44 years, 45–64 years, and 65 years and older).
