Anything that brings pleasure can become an addiction.

About 500,000 people in France—mostly young people aged 14 to 17—are “addicted” to video games. They make up 90% of psychologist and psychoanalyst Michael Stora’s clientele. This specialist refuses to classify video game addiction as harmful, as it can be a source of well-being and act as an antidepressant. Rather than condemning it, he analyzes the mechanism of addiction, its significance for self-image, its consequences, and ways to help teenagers break free from it. That is, to discourage them from excessive use.
