Epidemiology of Sports and Leisure Injuries in Children and Adolescents

The difficulty in collecting comprehensive data on accidents in daily life in France reflects society’s lack of attention to a phenomenon that nevertheless causes more than 18,000 deaths each year—twice as many as traffic accidents. Sports and recreational accidents alone account for half of these accidents among people aged 0 to 24.
