"Young people talk about an unspoken expectation to be connected" [Interview]

The Citizens’ Convention on Children’s Time, organized in 2025 by the Social, Economic, and Environmental Council (CESE), gave young people a voice on a variety of topics, particularly their relationship with screens. They acknowledge the pervasive presence of digital technology in their daily lives, just as they recognize the negative effects of social media. Rather than restrictions, they call for better digital literacy education, as well as a rebalancing toward hands-on learning.
