Developed by the Comede team based on the day-to-day experiences of the organization’s staff and volunteers, this guide—produced in partnership with Santé publique France—aims to provide solutions to the most common health issues faced by people in exile. Given that requests for support, medical care, access to healthcare, and legal advice often go hand in hand, understanding the medical, psychological, social, and administrative aspects of their experiences is crucial to providing appropriate care and support. Designed to promote a multidisciplinary approach, this guide consists of four sections—key information, rights and support, access to care, care and prevention—whose theoretical and practical information complements one another for the guide’s various target audiences: healthcare professionals, social workers, legal and administrative support specialists, volunteers, and others. New for the 2023 guide: it is now available in print format for the introductions to the various topics covered, and in “online” format at guide.comede.org for more detailed content that may change based on current events, with the guarantee of regular updates.
