The Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever (CCHF) virus was detected in October 2023 in ticks of the species Hyalomma marginatum collected from cattle raised in the Pyrénées-Orientales, and subsequently in the same ticks collected from cattle at slaughterhouses in Corsica.
