Rural Areas at the Heart of Public Policy

Healthcare in rural areas is a top priority for residents, local elected officials, and government authorities. At the national level, several initiatives have been launched to address this issue, spearheaded by government ministries and coordinated by the National Agency for Territorial Cohesion (ANCT). Beyond the critical issue of the density of healthcare professionals, these programs aim to promote health in a comprehensive manner in sparsely populated areas. They rely on the commitment of local governments and associations, mobilizing government services, particularly sub-prefects for rural affairs.
