Immigrants, who are more frequently exposed, were better at following preventive measures
Contrary to popular belief, the excess mortality observed among immigrants and their descendants cannot be attributed to a failure to follow public health guidelines. In fact, they wore masks more often than others, particularly women and older adults. Studies, however, show a lower rate of COVID-19 vaccination among these populations compared to non-immigrant populations.
