  • Persistent strain on the hospital system due to the level of SARS-CoV-2 circulation

Mainland France:

  • Most affected regions: Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, Île-de-France, Hauts-de-France, and Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes

  • Rising indicators in Île-de-France

Overseas territories: very sharp increase in indicators in Mayotte

Mortality

  • COVID-19-related mortality remains high

Prevention

  • Vaccination, as of February 9, 2021:

    • 1,990,860 people have received at least one dose

    • Vaccination coverage among residents of nursing homes or long-term care facilities: 67.3%

    • Vaccination coverage among healthcare professionals working in nursing homes or long-term care facilities: 28.2%

  • Need to strengthen adherence to preventive measures and limit contact

  • If symptoms develop, immediate isolation is required, and a test must be performed as soon as possible

  • Importance of supporting and strengthening the identification and control of transmission chains
