  • 961,550 possible cases of reinfection identified between March 2, 2021, and April 24, 2022, 96.7% of which occurred since December 6, 2021 (when the Omicron variant began spreading in France)

  • 48% of possible reinfection cases were aged 18 to 40

  • 93% of possible reinfection cases for which a screening result was available and interpretable had a result suggestive of infection with the Omicron variant during the second episode

  • 6.9% of all confirmed COVID-19 cases were possible reinfections in week 2022-S16
