Perceptions of Mental Health and Mental Disorders - Results from Waves 24 to 35 of the CoviPrev Survey

  • 74% of people aged 18 or older say they take care of their mental health

  • 85% believe they can take action to improve their mental health and well-being

  • 67% consider support from loved ones to be one of the most effective solutions (50% for psychotherapy)

  • 24% find it embarrassing to talk about their psychological problems with certain people in their social circle (family, friends, or both)

  • 42% believe that cost is one of the main barriers to seeing a psychiatrist, psychologist, or psychotherapist for anxiety or depression

  • 30% of people suffering from anxiety or depression do not believe that effective treatments for depression exist (28% for anxiety)
