Consolidated results of Flash Survey #20 (August 17, 2021)
4,796 samples from 17 regions/territories in mainland France and overseas territories (19% of the 24,939 positive cases reported today), including 4,197 with an interpretable result
The following variants of concern were detected among the samples:
In mainland France:
99.6% of 21A variants (Delta, B.1.617.2, first identified in India)
0.2% of 20I variants (Alpha+/-484K/Q, V1, B.1.1.7, first identified in the United Kingdom)
0.1% of 20J variants (Gamma, V3, P.1, first identified in Brazil)
In the Overseas Territories:
In Guadeloupe: 96.8% Delta variants and 3.2% Alpha variants
In Martinique: 87.8% Delta variants and 12.2% Alpha variants
In French Guiana: Sample sizes too small to produce interpretable results; however, Delta accounts for the majority of the 4 sequenced samples with interpretable results.
In Réunion: 79.2% Delta variants, 18.8% Beta variants, 2.0% Alpha variants
In Mayotte: No participation in Flash Survey #20 (very low number of positive cases).
