In the general population, according to the INPES Health Barometer, the prevalence of a major depressive episode in the past twelve months remained stable between 2005 and 2010. In contrast, the proportion of people who have depressive disorders but have not used the services of an organization, consulted a healthcare professional, or undergone psychotherapy has dropped significantly, from 63% in 2005 to 39% in 2010.
