In Poitiers, the fight against inequality centers on housing and nutrition.
Policies aimed at addressing social inequalities in health cannot be limited to promoting access to rights and healthcare. The city of Poitiers has made its school cafeterias more accessible to disadvantaged children and has been working for over a decade to eliminate substandard housing. Addressing nutrition and housing allows us to tackle the determinants of health—and thus to act at an early stage.
