Dengue Surveillance in the Caribbean. Update as of September 14, 2023.

Key Points

  • In Guadeloupe and Martinique, all dengue surveillance indicators have continued to rise since the start of the epidemic, which began in both territories at the end of July (week 2023–30). The DENV-2 serotype has been identified in all cases investigated in Martinique and Guadeloupe.

  • In Saint Martin: Confirmed sporadic cases have been reported. The epidemiological situation remains calm but is being closely monitored.

  • In Saint-Barthélemy: The epidemiological situation is calm but more active, with biologically confirmed cases since early August (week 2023-31). Nevertheless, it remains under close monitoring.

  • Phase 1 of the PSAGE* remains in effect in Saint Martin and Saint Barthélemy: sporadic cases.
