Dengue Surveillance in the Caribbean. Update as of September 7, 2023.

Key Points

  • In Guadeloupe and Martinique, all dengue surveillance indicators continue to rise. The dengue epidemic (Phase 4, Level 1; confirmed epidemic), declared on August 22, 2023, in Martinique and on September 1, 2023, in Guadeloupe by the respective management committees, continues.

  • The DENV-2 serotype has been identified in all cases investigated in Martinique and Guadeloupe.

  • In Saint Martin: the epidemiological situation is calm, but it should be monitored closely.

  • In Saint Barthélemy: The epidemiological situation is calm but more active, with biologically confirmed cases since early August (week 31 of 2023). Nevertheless, it remains under close monitoring.

  • Phase 1 of the PSAGE* remains in effect in Saint Martin and Saint Barthélemy: sporadic cases.
