Dengue Surveillance in Martinique. Update as of December 26, 2019.

Epidemiological Situation

The circulation of the dengue virus continues to intensify and spread throughout the region:

  • The threshold for clinically suggestive cases has been exceeded for four consecutive weeks (weeks 2019-48 and 2019-51);

  • The number of biologically confirmed cases has continued to rise since the resurgence that began in September;

  • A spatial pattern indicating continued spread of the virus in central-northern and southern Martinique, with a total of 18 out of 34 municipalities reporting biologically confirmed dengue cases (weeks 2019-48 to 2019-51);

  • A predominance of the DENV-3 serotype (71%);

Martinique is currently in Phase 3 of the PSAGE: Epidemic Risk.
