Dengue Surveillance in Martinique. Update as of November 26, 2020.

Key Points

The dengue epidemic continues in Martinique. However, viral circulation there is becoming less and less active, as shown by epidemiological surveillance indicators. Indeed, since mid-September, these indicators have pointed toward a slowdown in the epidemic, with values remaining above epidemic thresholds. Furthermore, the recent report of a dengue-related death calls for continued vigilance.

During this period of heavy rains, it is therefore important to remain vigilant by taking the following precautions: eliminating breeding sites, using personal protection such as repellents, and utilizing mosquito nets and electric swatters.

Martinique remains in Phase 4, Level 1 of the PSAGE dengue alert system: confirmed epidemic.
