Epidemiological Situation of Bronchiolitis in Martinique. Update as of December 13, 2012
An outbreak of bronchiolitis was reported during the first week of October. In mid-October (Week 2012-41), the estimated number of suspected cases seen in private practice was five times higher than the maximum expected values for the season. Since early November (Week 2012-44), a downward trend has been observed. During the first week of December (S2012-49), the number of suspected cases seen in private practice fell below the expected seasonal value. It is estimated that approximately 1,125 cases of bronchiolitis have been seen in private general practice since the start of the outbreak.
