Epidemiological Situation of Dengue Fever in Saint Martin. Update as of August 14, 2013.

Situation Analysis

The dengue epidemic continues, but certain indicators appear to be showing a decline: clinically suggestive cases, emergency room visits, and hospitalizations. The DENV-2 and DENV-4 viruses are co-circulating, with a clear predominance of the DENV-4 serotype. The duration of the epidemic may be related to the absence of the latter in Saint Martin for the past eight years. The dengue situation in Saint Martin remains that of a confirmed epidemic: Phase 3 of Psage**.** Psage = Program for Surveillance, Alert, and Management of Epidemics
