Analysis of the Epidemiological Situation
The dengue epidemic continues throughout French Guiana. The number of clinically suggestive cases and the number of laboratory-confirmed cases have been fluctuating and high since mid-March (S2013-11). Serotypes DEN-1, DEN-2, DEN-3, and DEN-4 are co-circulating, with a strong predominance of serotype DEN-2. Given the overall epidemiological situation, it is important to emphasize the importance of eliminating larval breeding sites and taking personal precautions against mosquitoes. In the event of sudden onset of fever, it is recommended to consult your primary care physician.
