HIV

  • No consolidated estimates of the number of new HIV diagnoses and AIDS diagnoses in 2017

  • Increase in the number of serological tests and rapid diagnostic tests (RDTs) performed in 2017

  • Among new HIV diagnoses in 2017: - Increase in the proportion of MSM: stability among MSM born in France, increase among MSM born abroad - Increase in heterosexuals born abroad, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa - Decrease in the proportion of people born in France

  • 57% of test orders placed by laboratory technicians were submitted via e-DO, and 69% of test orders placed by clinicians in 2017

STIs

  • Continued increase in gonorrhea cases (602 cases in 2017), mainly among MSM

  • Decline in cases of recent syphilis since 2016 (218 cases in 2017), but MSM still account for the majority of cases

  • Decline in consistent condom use

Prevention

  • Increase in PrEP users between 2016 and 2018: 821 users on ARA in the first half of 2018

  • National campaign encouraging testing: "Know Your Status"
