Key Points

COVID-19

  • In week 42, SARS-CoV-2 circulation is decreasing in the region (incidence rate of 574 per 100,000 inhabitants, down 18%). Incidence rates are fairly consistent across departments and remain higher among older adults. Hospitalizations for COVID-19 remain generally stable in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.

Monkeypox

  • 268 cases of monkeypox had been confirmed in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes as of 10/25/22.

Bronchiolitis

  • 2nd epidemic week.

  • According to the Oscour® network, emergency department visits and hospitalizations for a diagnosis of bronchiolitis among children under 2 years of age in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes increased in week 42 (October 17–23, 2022) compared to previous weeks.

  • In week 42, 398 emergency department visits for bronchiolitis were recorded, representing 12.3% of visits in this age group (10.5% in week 41).
