Number of emergency room visits in the Oscour® network in March 2023

  • All mental health disorders, adults: 6,995 visits, similar to March 2022 and higher than in previous years

  • All mental health disorders, children: 912 visits, similar to March 2022 and significantly higher than in previous years

  • Suicidal acts (age 11 and older): 744 visits, similar to March 2022 and higher than in previous years. Number of visits for suicidal ideation, higher than in 2022 and significantly higher than in previous years

  • Anxiety disorders (all ages): 2,226 visits, close to March 2022 and higher than in previous years

  • Mood disorders (all ages): 1,582 visits, similar to March 2022 and higher than in previous years

Indicators from the CoviPrev survey of the adult population

In waves 35–36 (September 12–December 12, 2022)

  • Prevalence of depressive disorders: 15.3% [12.4%–18.8%*], stable

  • Prevalence of suicidal thoughts: 10.7% [8.2% – 13.9%], downward trend

  • Prevalence of anxiety disorders: 25.2% [21.5%–29.2%], increasing trend

  • Prevalence of sleep problems: 69.0% [64.7% – 73.0%], stable

Characterized depressive episodes, 2021 Health Barometer

  • Rate of characterized depressive episodes in the past 12 months among 18- to 75-year-olds: 13.1% [11.6% - 14.8%*] in 2021

  • Upward trend compared to 2017 (+4 percentage points)
